Due to the recognised risk posed by movements of wooden packaging material and incidents involving pest outbreaks, there are rules now set in place governing the import of wood packaging material from most countries, with enhanced requirements including treatment and marking for material originating in specific countries (e.g. Canada, China, Japan and the USA).
